Forward Deployed Engineering Lead

Location: Hybrid, USA - New York, NY

On-target earnings: $200K–$240K, with commission offered.

What you will do

• Lead technical strategy and delivery standards for demand-side integrations across the partner portfolio.
• Own complex, ambiguous, and new-vertical integrations, including non-standard partner APIs and hosted experiences.
• Convert bespoke implementations into reusable modules, templates, tooling, and runbooks.
• Architect and govern AI-native engineering practices, including code-generation pipelines, mapping automation, test-scaffolding agents, and human-review gates.
• Mentor Forward Deployed Engineers through design and code reviews and improve engineering standards.
• Lead technical working sessions and feedback loops with partner, Product, Engineering, Solutions Engineering, and commercial teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience, including senior or staff-level work in integration, platform, or forward-deployed engineering.
• Production-quality coding experience in Scala and/or Python, with working comfort in Node.js/TypeScript for SDKs and tooling.
• Deep REST/JSON API expertise, including authentication, idempotency, schema evolution, versioning, monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience building reusable architecture, tooling, or playbooks that increased team output without proportional headcount growth.
• Experience using AI-native workflows and tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, with judgment about when deterministic approaches are preferable.
• Ability to facilitate technical working sessions directly with partner engineering teams.
• Ability to take ownership of complex, ambiguous work and combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
• Ability to build trust across partner, Product, Engineering, Solutions Engineering, and commercial teams and support colleague growth through mentoring, design feedback, and code review.
