Senior Interior Design Specialist, Cabinetry

Location: Yonkers, New York, United States; physical retail in-store.

What you will do

• Lead cabinetry and home renovation projects from concept to completion using 2020 Design Live or similar software.
• Create layout plans, floor plans, mood boards, renderings, 3D visuals, product recommendations, and complete product packages.
• Consult with DIY homeowners and professional contractors on kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, custom built-ins, cabinetry, tile, flooring, and plumbing.
• Explain cabinetry construction, materials, finishes, and specialty features while tailoring solutions to customer goals, budgets, and timelines.
• Manage projects through final purchase and post-order support, generate leads, build customer relationships, and close sales.
• Support store launches, visual updates, floor sets, inventory tasks, cross-training, sales, back-of-house operations, and peak business periods.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in kitchen, bath, cabinetry, or home renovation design.
• Experience with spatial planning, product selection, and end-to-end renovation product knowledge from cabinetry to tile.
• Confident use of 2020 Design software; CRM/POS familiarity such as Salesforce is helpful.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and building customer trust while selling design solutions.
• Availability for retail hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work collaboratively, communicate clearly, follow through, and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently, with occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis; heavier items require assistance or equipment.
• Ability to meet close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus-adjustment requirements, tolerate varying temperatures and moderate noise, and follow safety protocols.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field.
• Mentoring or training experience in a retail or design setting.
• NKBA, NAHB, NARI, or KBDI certification.
