Software Engineering Intern (Seattle)

Location: Seattle, WA; 40 hours per week with a minimum of 4 days per week onsite in the Seattle office. No relocation or housing assistance is provided.

What you will do

• Design and build product features and capabilities on a cross-functional team.
• Develop embedded software for multi-room audio processing, networking, security, and user experience in speaker products.
• Build services and APIs for controlling the hirify.global system in a smart, internet-connected home.
• Add features to mobile applications for controlling and listening to audio content.
• Create semantic data layers for machine learning and AI use of data and diagnostics.
• Use AI tools and automated, self-service processes to improve software development productivity, experience, and security.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate college or university program, preferably studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Expected graduation in Winter 2027/2028 or Spring 2028/2029.
• Available to participate in the internship from June through August 2027, including the 11-week program from June 7 through August 20, 2027.
• Authorized to work for any US employer now and in the future. Visa sponsorship or transfer of sponsorship is not available.
• Proficiency writing code in one or more of Swift, Kotlin, C, C++, Java, or Python.
• Familiarity with Git or another version-control system.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and continuous integration and deployment techniques.
• Ability to work from the Seattle office at least 4 days per week in a 40-hour-per-week schedule.

Nice to have

• App development experience with Kotlin or Swift.
• Embedded software experience with C/C++, audio processing, networking, security, or AOSP.
• Familiarity with Tableau, OpenSearch, Snowflake, DataDog, or other system reliability and quality tracking tools.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Services.
• Experience with CI/CD build and release pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure Pipelines.
