  • Own a scoped firmware project supporting core sensing and autonomy hardware.
  • Work with communication protocols and peripherals to connect system components.
  • Bring up and debug new boards alongside electrical engineers and support firmware integration with hardware and higher-level software.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, implement fixes, and document code, test results, and technical decisions.
  • Work closely with engineers, communicate progress clearly, ask questions early, and iterate based on feedback and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Programming experience in C or C++.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers such as STM32 or ESP32, or embedded Linux devices such as Raspberry Pi or Nvidia Jetson.
  • Hands-on embedded experience through coursework, personal projects, or student engineering teams, including at least one project that can be explained in detail.
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and willingness to investigate unfamiliar problems.
  • Clear communication skills and a track record of working effectively with others.

Nice to have

  • Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, or CAN communication protocols.
  • Comfort using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
  • Experience on a student engineering team such as underwater robotics, SAE, or similar design-build competitions.
  • Interest in maritime systems, autonomy, or defense technology.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on work on real hardware and mission-critical firmware for sensing and autonomy systems deployed in harsh marine environments.
  • Regular feedback and mentorship from experienced engineers.
  • Lunch and snacks provided in the office.
  • Access to a work environment combining technology, maritime systems, and defense.
  • Full-time employee benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage and access to a 401(k) retirement plan; competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers.
