Production Planner (SAP S/4HANA)

Location: USA, Lakewood, NJ; onsite manufacturing role.

Salary: $67,300–$105,100 USD base salary annually, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Convert bi-weekly Corporate Supply Chain plans into feasible, sequenced production schedules based on capacity, staffing, demand, and material availability.
• Optimize campaign and wheel scheduling by formulation, bulk, and package size to reduce changeovers, washouts, short runs, and downtime.
• Run daily MRP, convert planned orders and purchase requisitions, manage purchase orders, and coordinate supplier delivery dates.
• Monitor raw materials and components across SAP, WMS, and physical counts; resolve discrepancies and manage days of supply, aged, blocked, excess, and obsolete inventory.
• Own planning KPIs, explain schedule misses and shortages with root cause and corrective actions, and operate within inventory and operating budgets.
• Maintain SAP MRP parameters, BOMs, production versions, workflow IDOCs, and related master data while identifying risks across the planning horizon.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of production planning, production scheduling, or MRP/materials planning experience in a manufacturing environment; warehouse, inventory control, or logistics experience alone does not meet this requirement.
• Hands-on experience planning in SAP is required; SAP S/4HANA experience is strongly preferred.
• Working proficiency in SAP S/4HANA PP/MM planning transactions, including MD04, MRP runs and exception handling, purchase orders, BOMs, and production versions.
• Understanding of MRP logic, capacity planning, lead times, safety stock, lot sizing, inventory management, and changeover optimization.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Experience meeting KPIs, working within a budget or inventory target, placing and managing purchase orders, and coordinating supplier delivery dates.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, WMS, PLM, and CLICK applications, with strong written communication, prioritization, analytical, collaboration, ownership, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to follow standard work, comply with SOPs and safety procedures, and understand the impact of FDA GMP requirements on production processes.

Nice to have

• ASCM/APICS CPIM or CSCP certification, or active pursuit of certification.
• Experience in consumer packaged goods, OTC healthcare/drug, personal care, or other FDA/cGMP-regulated manufacturing.
• Lean or Six Sigma training, including Yellow or Green Belt.
• Experience with Power BI and/or CoPilot/AI.
