Sports Trader (NBA/WNBA)

Location: Hybrid role with required office presence in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States. Predominantly in-office for training and core trading tasks; regular late shifts typically run from 2:30pm–10:30pm ET during the NBA season, with required night and weekend work.

Salary: $74,000–$82,500 USD annually, depending on experience, location, business needs, and market demand.

What you will do

• Learn to set and manage prices for football or hockey games, player statistics, and futures markets from pre-game through live in-play odds.
• Use in-house tools and models to manage pricing and monitor real-time news, statistics, and industry prices.
• Trade live games and rapidly adjust prices based on game flow, key events, and customer behavior.
• Support live basketball betting during NBA-season shifts and develop knowledge of NBA markets.
• Collaborate with Traders, Risk, Product, Marketing, and Compliance teams.
• Help develop new bet types and improve the customer betting experience.

Requirements

• Deep passion for NFL, NCAAF, or hockey, especially the NHL.
• General knowledge of other sports, ideally NBA for live market management and MLB or WNBA for the football/NHL offseason.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; recent and soon-to-be graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong comfort with numbers, odds, probability, and quick mental math; understanding of the relationship between odds and probability and how betting markets work.
• Proficiency with Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and curiosity to research news and trends.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure while responding to rapidly changing information.
• Ability to work outside typical business hours, including nights and weekends; Traders work approximately 50–70 weekend shifts per year while working five days per week.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain a DGE license for trading activities.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL, Python, or R.
• Knowledge of additional hockey leagues beyond the NHL.
