DevOps / Backend Engineer (Junior to Mid-Level) – Egofold (AI)

Location: Hybrid in the Los Angeles Area, with 1–2 days onsite per week; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $110,000–$145,000 annually.

hirify.global develops and publishes interactive digital entertainment and is building Egofold, an AI initiative focused on adaptive non-human players and intelligent agents for video games.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, data integrations, and simulation-support systems.
• Own assigned systems from requirements and architecture through implementation, deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and monitoring.
• Optimize backend performance, resolve technical issues, and develop reliable and maintainable solutions.
• Integrate backend services with AI models, intelligent agents, and evolving machine learning workflows in collaboration with AI engineers and researchers.
• Document services, APIs, infrastructure configurations, and deployment procedures.

Requirements

• Professional backend software engineering experience developing and maintaining production-quality applications independently.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or a comparable backend programming language.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs or similar backend services.
• Practical experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Working knowledge of Linux, Git, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Experience with Docker or comparable containerization technologies.
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, initiative, accountability, and ownership skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
• Ability to work effectively in a small, fast-paced environment with evolving technical requirements.

Nice to have

• Backend experience supporting AI, machine learning, data-intensive systems, simulation environments, intelligent agents, or AI-driven applications.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, distributed systems, observability tools, scalable cloud infrastructure, GPU environments, or AI model deployment infrastructure.
• Experience in startup environments, research-focused engineering teams, emerging technology initiatives, or taking backend systems from prototypes to production.
