Data Scientist

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or Seattle, United States.

Salary: $347,000–$445,000 per year, plus equity and eligible performance-related bonuses.

What you will do

• Build a reliable view of the business from provider usage reports, billing records, and API logs, explaining growth from new workloads, expansion, pricing changes, and model mix.
• Estimate the demand added by cloud distribution and distinguish new use cases from traffic shifted from the direct API.
• Identify customers ready to scale by combining account-team insights with request failures, latency, and model-availability data.
• Work with Product and Engineering on changes and measure their impact on usage.
• Shape growth plans with Go-to-Market and Finance, estimate workload and launch contributions, and recommend provider investments.
• Own the consumption forecast, explain forecast variances, and improve future forecasts.

Requirements

• Experience independently leading data science work on a product, growth, or commercial question that changed a business decision.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, including joining incomplete datasets, selecting the right unit of analysis, and validating aggregate results against individual customers or workloads.
• Experience using cohorts, experiments, or observational comparisons to assess what drove a change.
• Ability to explain how customer selection affects conclusions and evaluate a forecast against a simple baseline.
• Ability to make recommendations with incomplete information and communicate evidence and decision criteria to sales and engineering stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with API platforms, cloud marketplaces, enterprise Go-to-Market, or usage-based businesses.
• Experience connecting service reliability or capacity to customer adoption, or using demand forecasts to guide commercial or infrastructure investments.
