Electronic Security Project Engineer

Location: Romsey, United Kingdom. Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the UK and ordinarily resident in the UK for at least five of the last five years to meet UK security clearance requirements.

What you will do

• Deliver and manage electronic and physical security projects from inception through completion, including strategies, designs, and technical specifications.
• Design and coordinate access control, CCTV, intruder detection, intercom, and integrated security management systems.
• Coordinate designs in Revit and AutoCAD and apply relevant security principles, ISO standards, and NPSA requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, architects, engineers, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support project planning, fee proposals, risk management, technical reviews, and delivery.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers and contribute to the development of the Electronic Security discipline.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in electronic security engineering or a closely related discipline; more than five years is preferred, but no fixed experience threshold applies.
• Experience designing and delivering electronic security systems, ideally in complex or high-security environments.
• Experience leading and managing projects, taking responsibility for projects and deliverables, and applying sound technical judgement.
• Ability to collaborate positively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Revit and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of relevant security standards, guidance, good practice, and NPSA principles.
• Commitment to technical quality, continuous learning, and professional development.
• Ability to attain and maintain UK Government security clearance appropriate to the role and project requirements, with at least five of the last five years ordinarily resident in the UK.
• Legal permission to work in the UK and ability to provide appropriate evidence.

Nice to have

• Relevant qualifications or membership of an appropriate professional or industry body, such as the Security Institute or the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists.
