Project Engineer (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Cramlington, Northumberland, United Kingdom; onsite at the manufacturing site. No relocation.

What you will do

• Deliver capital projects from early concept through commissioning and validation.
• Contribute to business cases, vendor selection, project scope, and detailed design.
• Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets for assigned work packages.
• Support construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
• Lead change control processes and project documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering partners, vendors, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree-level qualification in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience delivering projects in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or FMCG.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Experience with GMP compliance and validation processes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and contractor supervision abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Project Management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
