Data Center Appraisal Review Specialist II (US) (Fintech)

Location: Remote, with the work location listed as New York, New York, United States; other listed locations include Greenville, South Carolina; Mount Laurel, New Jersey; Jacksonville, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina; Boston, Massachusetts; and Portland, Maine. Occasional domestic travel is required.

Salary: $91,000–$145,600 USD annually.

What you will do

• Review, analyze, and evaluate commercial real estate appraisals, internal evaluations, and vendor-prepared valuations.
• Assess complex properties including data centers, industrial, special-purpose, multifamily, office, mixed-use, and subdivision or tract developments.
• Research market data, explain valuation issues, and provide analysis supporting modifications to appraised values.
• Manage appraisal vendors by soliciting quotes, negotiating fees and payment terms, resolving deficiencies, and approving appraisal firms and individuals.
• Support commercial loan officers with property inspections, risk analysis, market intelligence, and appraisal policy guidance.
• Develop appraisal standards, participate in policy revisions, and support appraisal training and staff coaching.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, state appraiser certification, and 5+ years of related experience.
• Expert knowledge of commercial real estate appraisal and valuation principles, including income capitalization methods and residential subdivision experience.
• Familiarity with FIRREA, USPAP, federal regulatory guidelines, hirify.global appraisal policy, and interagency appraisal and evaluation guidelines.
• Some appraisal courses, preferably from the Appraisal Institute.
• In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory aspects of the commercial real estate market.
• Strong analytical, evaluative, prioritization, organizational, verbal, written communication, negotiation, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to resolve appraisal issues with lenders and managers in pressure situations and independently manage complex, time-sensitive assignments in a high-volume environment.
• MAI designation or equivalent experience is required.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of commercial real estate appraisal or appraisal review experience within a financial institution.
• Substantial data center appraisal review experience and active credentials in multiple states where licensure is required.
• Florida Certified General Real Estate Appraiser credential, with the ability to obtain and maintain additional state licenses as business needs require.
• Experience reviewing complex commercial real estate appraisals, including data centers, office, mixed-use, industrial, multifamily, special-purpose properties, and portfolio assignments.
• Experience with financial institutions on syndicated transactions and portfolio management.
• Proficiency with ARGUS and RIMS.
