MariaDB Database Administrator

Location: Remote from Porto, Portugal

What you will do

• Manage and monitor ClickHouse clusters and MariaDB database systems.
• Design, implement, maintain, and regularly improve databases with development teams based on end-user requirements.
• Investigate performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
• Maintain reliability and stability while ensuring efficient, cost-effective resource usage.
• Improve team processes according to industry best practices and participate in knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience administering MariaDB database systems.
• Experience diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving operational problems, including database performance analysis and fine-tuning.
• Knowledge of data partitioning and sharding.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Portuguese and English language skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Big Data systems such as Hadoop, Impala, or ClickHouse.
• Exposure to PHP, Python, or Go.
