Senior SQL Server Database Administrator – Cloud & High Availability Expertise

Location: Lisbon, hybrid, with 2 days of remote work per week. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

Salary: €8,085 B2B, or €2,600–€3,000 net under a permanent contract.

What you will do

• Administer and maintain SQL Server 2014+ through 2025 and Sybase ASE production databases.
• Implement and manage AlwaysON, Transactional Replication, disaster recovery, and database security solutions.
• Analyze query performance, optimize T-SQL and stored procedures, and tune SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and PowerBI Server.
• Develop T-SQL and PowerShell automation for operations, deployments, and proactive monitoring.
• Support cloud platform refreshes and cross-cloud migrations involving Azure SQL, Azure Analysis Services, PowerBI, AWS, and GCP.
• Manage incidents, participate in crisis resolution and war rooms, and support scheduled on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in database administration and architecture, specifically with SQL Server and Sybase ASE.
• Deep expertise in high availability configurations, disaster recovery plans, and database security policies.
• Strong scripting skills in T-SQL and PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Experience managing production incidents, leading war rooms, and operating in operational readiness scenarios.
• Fluent written and spoken English and French are required.
• Existing legal right to work in the European Union is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of .NET stack technologies such as C#, Angular, or Rust for internal tooling.
• Microsoft SQL Server or cloud platform certification.
