Senior Manager, Payroll Connection & Integration Support (Fintech)

Location: United States, Remote

Base salary: $135,000–$145,000 per year, depending on U.S. location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Lead payroll connection and integration operations, directly managing 2 Payroll Connection Managers and overseeing frontline operational teams.
• Translate company strategy into operational plans for payroll synchronization and money movement flows.
• Manage escalations with external payroll providers and technology partners, including root-cause analysis and long-term resolution planning.
• Own SLA, quality, accuracy, cycle-time, capacity, and throughput metrics across teams.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Implementation to translate customer insights into product and operational improvements.
• Maintain transaction controls, mitigate operational risk, lead process automation and standardization, and report operational insights to executives.

Requirements

• 4+ years of operational management experience in financial services, fintech, 401(k) retirement services, or SaaS, including 2+ years managing People Managers or Leaders.
• Deep understanding of payroll integrations, including APIs, SFTP, file feeds, transaction lifecycles, money movement, and operational risk controls in regulated environments.
• Experience leading complex operational initiatives involving integration enhancements, operational decisions, governance frameworks, and multi-phase migration plans from strategy through execution.
• Experience developing direct-report managers, setting expectations, managing performance, and building high-performing operational teams.
• Ability to use complex data reports, staffing models, SLA metrics, and capacity analysis to drive strategy and trade-offs.
• Ability to influence cross-functional leadership across Sales, Product and Engineering, Implementation, and Customer Success.
• Experience designing end-to-end operational improvements, scaling processes, and leading large teams through organizational change.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience with 401(k) recordkeeping systems, payroll integrations, or complex financial reconciliations.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification.
• Experience in high-growth, fast-paced fintech environments.
