Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: United States (Remote)

Salary: $140K–$190K annual base salary, plus potential equity and other compensation.

hirify.global is a construction-focused AI product company building agents that automate preconstruction estimating, bid management, and related workflows.

What you will do

• Own features and services across the Rails product application, Python ML/computer-vision services, agent SDK layer, and data platform.
• Improve the scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency of computer-vision, LLM, and VLM inference pipelines processing construction drawings.
• Build model infrastructure, including vision-model integrations, LLM orchestration, agent workflows, MLflow registry, and evaluation harnesses.
• Contribute to architecture and design documentation, conduct code reviews, and mentor teammates.
• Partner with product and engineering stakeholders to scope work, evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, and convert customer needs into reliable software.
• Ship production code, troubleshoot issues, and participate in incident response.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building production software, with a record of delivering in fast-paced environments.
• Strong experience in at least one of Rails or Python applications, production computer-vision pipelines, LLM/agent systems, or data-intensive B2B SaaS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP, PostgreSQL, background-job or messaging systems such as Sidekiq or RabbitMQ, and modern deployment practices.
• Experience owning features or services from technical design through deployment and ongoing operation.
• Strong coding, debugging, and code-review skills with recent production delivery experience.
• Familiarity with SRE and DevOps practices such as CI/CD, Kubernetes, or Helm, and the ability to collaborate with dedicated SRE teammates.
• Experience handling messy real-world inputs such as documents, PDFs, images, OCR, or user-generated data.
• Production experience with computer-vision or LLM/agent systems, or strong adjacent experience with a desire to work deeply in this space.
• Ability to make sound engineering trade-offs, use testing and evaluations to improve reliability, and work effectively in a flat, direct, high-velocity environment.

Nice to have

• Construction, AEC, or other vertical-SaaS experience.
• Experience helping a product scale at a growing startup.
