Staff Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; must be based in US Eastern or Central time. An engineering hub is available in downtown Orlando.

hirify.global is a Series A healthcare startup building an AI operating system for specialty pharmacy.

What you will do

• Own core products including prior authorization pipelines, Epic integrations, patient communications infrastructure, and AI agents handling calls and texts.
• Build and operate production agentic systems in a regulated healthcare environment, including automated workflows, LLM-assisted QA, RAG, function calling, and evaluations.
• Make architectural decisions across the product and its connections to the broader platform.
• Set engineering patterns, review standards, and quality expectations through hands-on code and technical leadership.
• Drive delivery through roadmaps, product milestones, cross-team dependencies, and software that solves user problems.

Requirements

• Previous ownership of a product and responsibility for decisions that shaped it.
• Experience building complex systems from scratch, with the ability to explain specific technical decisions and their rationale.
• Hands-on engineering approach with the ability to zoom out and reason about the wider product and system.
• High agency: independently identify what needs to happen and execute without waiting for perfectly scoped tasks.
• Comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-changing environment.
• Daily use of AI tools and interest in advancing AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Must be based in US Eastern or Central time.
