Senior Quality Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Own quality for scientific use cases, provide QE release sign-off, and withhold approval when Compliance-defined criteria are not met.
• Trace delivered work to documented requirements and ensure test evidence, design reviews, requirements, and SDLC traceability are complete in a validated environment.
• Build and maintain workflow-based automated tests across UI, API, and database layers using Playwright.
• Improve coverage, cycle time, and quality visibility, using AI to build automation, generate test cases, and strengthen quality processes.
• Verify AI features by assessing evaluation thresholds, held-out test data, measured results, and the accuracy of claims.
• Plan and execute functional, integration, regression, performance, security, tenant-isolation, resiliency, manual, and exploratory testing while collaborating with scientists, data engineers, architects, product managers, and developers.

Requirements

• 8+ years in quality engineering or SDET roles, with independent ownership of quality for a product area.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes across the full SDLC in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Experience designing comprehensive test plans and cases for evolving requirements and meticulously reporting test runs and defects.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript, with deep hands-on experience in Playwright or an equivalent workflow-based end-to-end testing framework; experience building automation frameworks.
• Advanced SQL and strong knowledge of database systems for validating scientific data integrity and correctness.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and quality gates using GitHub Actions or an equivalent tool.
• Practical use of AI tooling for automation, test-case generation, and quality-process improvement, with sound judgment about AI-generated output.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, data pipelines, web applications, microservices on AWS, and Jira and Zephyr Scale.
• Experience producing and owning release evidence in a validated environment according to Compliance-defined standards.
• Curiosity about scientific use cases and instruments; BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, a life science, or equivalent experience.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Exposure to warehouse architectures such as Databricks.
• Science background or experience with scientific instruments.
