Compiler Engineer for AI DSLs (AI)

Location: Hybrid work at an assigned hirify.global site in the United States; primary location Santa Clara, California, with additional locations in Beaver Brook, Massachusetts; Hillsboro, Oregon; and Austin, Texas.

Annual salary: $128,880–$181,940 USD.

What you will do

• Develop compiler features and optimizations for hirify.global CPUs, GPUs, and accelerators.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering teams on processor features and compiler integration.
• Develop and maintain compiler frameworks including LLVM, Clang, SYCL, and Fortran.
• Run functional and performance experiments, debug issues, and resolve defects.
• Investigate parallelization, vectorization, application performance, and memory optimizations.
• Collaborate with open-source communities and cross-geo engineering and validation teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electronic Engineering, Informatics, or a closely related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of experience with C/C++, SYCL, CUDA, DSL programming, object-oriented design principles, and complex data structures.
• 2+ years of experience with compiler technologies and LLVM compiler infrastructure.
• Demonstrated debugging, problem-solving, independent work, and proactive solution-seeking abilities.
• Ability to contribute effectively to open-source projects.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining production-grade compilers.
• Familiarity with LLVM IR generation, passes, and backend development.
• Experience with vectorization, OpenMP, SYCL, and GPU compiler optimizations.
• Strong understanding of processor architectures, performance analysis, and memory optimization.
• Experience collaborating with language standards groups or contributing to standards development.
• Knowledge of MLIR and TileIR for DSL programming languages in AI domains.
