Staff Quality Automation Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build and maintain shared automation, test frameworks, and harnesses for functional, integration, regression, and release testing across supported software and hardware configurations.
• Turn prototypes and scripts into reliable internal engineering tools with clear interfaces, configuration, diagnostics, documentation, and error handling.
• Integrate tools with CI, nightly, and release workflows; record builds, configurations, commands, inputs, and results for reproducible failure investigation.
• Assess coverage, assertions, boundary and negative cases, numerical accuracy, performance, stability, and test reliability while verifying fixes with developers.
• Support adoption through documentation, examples, user feedback, and measurement of effort, reliability, result quality, and maintenance costs.
• Evaluate AI coding agents and workflow tools on real QE work, validate their outputs, and follow approved data-handling rules.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience.
• Strong software-development skills, including writing, debugging, maintaining, and reviewing code, explaining design choices, and investigating failures beyond surface test results.
• Experience building shared test automation, frameworks, or engineering tools used repeatedly by other engineers.
• Experience converting prototypes or manual workflows into reliable tools with configuration, failure handling, documentation, adoption, and maintenance.
• Practical test engineering experience covering requirements, boundary and negative cases, coverage, and failure investigation using code, logs, and reproducible experiments.
• Experience with Linux, version control, code review, automated tests, and CI workflows.
• Regular use of AI coding agents or AI workflows, including examples of built solutions, approach evolution, and result validation.
• Experience guiding technical work across distributed teams through design and code reviews, understanding user needs, explaining tradeoffs, working independently, and raising missing decisions.

Nice to have

• Systems software testing in firmware, drivers, compilers, runtimes, or distributed systems, including real devices.
• ML inference, model execution, numerical comparisons, quantization, or performance benchmarking.
• Test frameworks, CI pipelines, containers, reporting, or lab automation.
• Hardware-in-the-loop, multi-card or multi-node configurations, and extended stability or soak testing.
• Internal engineering products used across teams or repeatedly used, human-reviewed AI workflows.
