Senior Automation Quality Engineer (Mobile)

Location: Hybrid in Belgrade, Bitola, Kragujevac, Nis, Novi Sad, Ohrid, or Skopje, South-Eastern Europe.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain automated tests for mobile applications, backend services, and integrations supporting BAU releases and value-stream delivery for a lottery-domain project.
• Build reusable automation for important mobile application journeys and manage installation, launch, reset, and test state.
• Design and execute coverage for permissions, interruptions, backgrounding, application lifecycle events, and network changes across an agreed device and operating-system matrix.
• Diagnose failures using device logs, screenshots, and execution evidence, and collaborate with developers to improve testability and automation stability.
• Use approved AI tools to design mobile test scenarios, generate and refactor tests, analyze device failures, protect sensitive data, and independently review AI-generated tests before merging.

Requirements

• Strong capability with CodeceptJS, Appium, TypeScript, and API testing.
• Experience with Sauce Labs for remote test execution.
• Knowledge of mobile and backend architecture, test design, and software delivery principles.
• Understanding of mobile locators, synchronization, gestures, application lifecycle, and trade-offs between physical devices, simulators or emulators, and cloud execution.
• Knowledge of HTTP, JSON, authentication, status codes, and schema validation.
• Ability to create independent tests with reliable setup and cleanup, acceptance and integration-layer coverage, contract checks, and awareness of mocking limitations.
• Experience with AWS or DevOps, virtual environments, and service virtualization using mocks or stubs.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Swift, Kotlin, Xcode, Espresso, or Compose UI.
