Fullstack Developer (Vue/Nuxt)

Location: Hybrid, Verisk Manchester office, United Kingdom. This is a 12-month internship starting in June 2027.

Verisk develops the Ignite platform for insurance-related workflows, including quote, take-up, cancellation, and renewal processes.

What you will do

• Deliver small, well-defined tickets with support, communicate blockers, and contribute to ongoing team delivery.
• Write readable TypeScript and/or C# .NET code, unit tests, and straightforward SQL queries against existing SQL Server and PostgreSQL schemas.
• Participate in code reviews, Git workflows, sprint ceremonies, demos, and documented development processes.
• Apply secure coding basics, maintain legacy code through supervised fixes, and build familiarity with the Ignite codebase and architecture.
• Learn how the platform is hosted and deployed on Azure and Kubernetes and develop an understanding of insurance policy lifecycle logic.
• Use AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot and Claude responsibly, understanding and explaining submitted AI-generated code.

Requirements

• Be a student between the second and final years of a computer science or related degree.
• Be able to program in at least one language and understand object-oriented programming.
• Have basic SQL and Git knowledge.
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of TypeScript, C# .NET, Vue, Nuxt, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions during the placement.
• Own assigned tasks, communicate blockers proactively, ask questions when unclear, respond to feedback, and work reliably with others.
• Understand and explain any submitted code, including AI-generated code, and develop awareness of coding harnesses, AI agents, reusable AI skills, and MCP.
• The internship is not eligible for work visa sponsorship; candidates who will require work visa sponsorship after completing their degree do not meet the basic requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience taking ownership of small tickets end-to-end, contributing meaningfully to code reviews, writing more involved SQL queries, or understanding Customer Portal and Ignite architecture.
