Sr IT Transition Manager - Defense Sector

Location: USA; US citizenship is strictly required.

Salary: $175,000–$185,000 per year, paid weekly.

What you will do

• Develop and execute Transition-In and Transition-Out plans for critical defense IT contract services.
• Coordinate onboarding and operational readiness across internal stakeholders, incoming personnel, incumbent teams, and government customers.
• Validate Government Furnished Equipment, technical documentation, software configuration baselines, and joint inventories.
• Lead discovery sessions and workshops to document system configurations, operational workflows, and application code bases.
• Oversee continuity across development pipelines, cloud infrastructures, database systems, ITSM workflows, and SOPs.
• Manage cybersecurity compliance, transition risks, and communications with senior military leadership, COs, CORs, and corporate partners.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of federal IT program management experience, including 3+ years focused on IT infrastructure or software service transitions within the defense sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent professional or military experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster collaboration across diverse, multi-company teams.
• Proficiency with project scheduling and task management tools such as MS Project or Jira.
• Understanding of Agile or structured delivery models.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance, ability to obtain Top Secret clearance if required, and U.S. citizenship.

Nice to have

• PMP, ITIL, or CSM certification; certification is preferred but not required with a strong proven record of managing defense IT program lifecycles.
