Program Manager (Defense)

Location: Pottstown, Pennsylvania, United States; office-based work required. Some travel is required, up to 20%. U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected individual status is required for ITAR/EAR compliance.

Salary: $101,000–$154,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the execution of complex programs or multiple related programs across cost, schedule, scope, technical performance, and business objectives.
• Develop program plans, top-down and bottom-up estimates, resource plans, integrated master schedules, budgets, estimates at completion, and communications plans.
• Define and manage program controls, success criteria, priorities, requirements, risks, mitigation plans, and scope changes.
• Coordinate with Product Line Managers, functional leads, internal teams, government customers, commercial customers, and executive staff.
• Lead program meetings and reviews, oversee program reporting, and maintain customer alignment and satisfaction.
• Support business development, opportunity capture, and the preparation of cost and technical proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 12–15 years of Program Management experience.
• Experience leading teams on advanced technical development programs and/or technical systems-of-systems development programs.
• Proven experience leading multiple concurrent programs and managing firm fixed-price programs.
• Experience developing risk management and mitigation plans.
• Strong knowledge of Project Management methods, tools, and processes.
• Ability to interface effectively with internal teams and government and commercial customers.
• Knowledge of the use and application of export licenses for military products exported to foreign countries.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and strategic thinking, leadership, work ethic, honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity.
• U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected individual status is required.

Nice to have

• Technical master’s degree.
• PMI or equivalent certification.
• Active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.
• Experience managing to Earned Value.
• Experience determining methods and procedures for new assignments and coordinating other personnel.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and demonstrate initiative, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
