Systems Engineer Space System Studies (Space Debris and Ecodesign)

What you will do

• Coordinate the space debris centre of competence and the space safety tech hub.
• Support projects with space debris and ecodesign requests, assess new standards and policies, and roadmap new technologies.
• Monitor opportunities, support proactive acquisition of new projects, and manage studies and technology development projects.
• Participate in or lead proposals, studies, projects, and technology development programmes across phases 0/A/B and B/C/D/E, with a focus on secure and quantum communication.
• Define requirements, system architectures, specifications, interfaces, budgets, study logic, work breakdowns, and work packages.
• Perform security, vulnerability, threat, and risk analyses; support ISO27k validation and CC/ITGS certification; coordinate with internal and external specialists, department leadership, and business development.

Requirements

• Expertise in space debris mitigation standards, practices, analyses, and technologies.
• Expertise in EcoDesign and DQS impacts.
• Existing network of contacts within the space debris and ecodesign community.
• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience designing and implementing secure and quantum communication systems for ground and space.
• Technical knowledge and experience with key management systems and cryptographic systems.
• Experience assessing security risks according to the EBIOS or ISO method.
• Passion for systematic approaches to proving system security properties, plus a team-oriented, self-managed, and proactive working style.
