What you will do

• Lead and develop the branch team, creating a positive and high-performing culture.
• Drive sales, customer engagement, profitability, and footfall for the new branch.
• Manage stock, purchasing, goods receiving, branch resources, delivery deadlines, and customer requirements.
• Maintain standards for health and safety, quality, compliance, security, and company documentation.
• Control branch costs, including overtime and carriage expenditure.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers, field sales colleagues, and support teams, and implement branch improvement plans.

Requirements

• Previous experience managing or supervising within a trade, distribution, wholesale, builders’ merchant, drainage, merchanting, or similar operational environment.
• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
• Experience in stock management, purchasing, and branch operations.
• Customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver profitable business growth.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in an operational environment.
• Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
• Proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• Current Branch Manager experience or experience as an assistant seeking career progression.
• A proven track record in merchanting, a strong network of contacts, and interest in learning the company’s products.
