AI Engineer Consultant

Location: Hybrid in Amsterdam, Netherlands; two days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Analyse client needs, business objectives, KPIs, operational challenges, and organisational context to identify tangible AI opportunities.
• Design and propose evidence-based AI solutions with measurable business outcomes and assess their medium- and long-term organisational and commercial impact.
• Lead discovery workshops, AI strategy sessions, presentations, and executive discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support AI adoption and change management through engagement, skills transfer, and organisational buy-in.
• Shape commercial proposals, solution design, technical storytelling, and AI offerings in collaboration with Service Line Managers, Solution Architects, Data Specialists, and Engineering teams.
• Design and advise on RAG, AI agents, MCP ecosystems, enterprise knowledge retrieval, workflow automation, evaluation, testing, governance, and scalable AI architectures.

Requirements

• Strong consulting mindset and ability to understand business objectives, KPIs, operational challenges, and organisational dynamics.
• Experience identifying business opportunities for AI and translating them into practical, measurable solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to simplify technical concepts for executive audiences.
• Practical understanding of Claude Code, AI agents, MCP connectors, plugins, skills, orchestration layers, and agentic workflows.
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering RAG-based solutions, including retrieval strategies, grounding techniques, vector databases, enterprise search, and knowledge management use cases.
• Experience with AI agents and multi-agent systems, including orchestration patterns, memory management, tool calling, and workflow automation.
• Experience assessing AI solution quality using Harness, LangSmith, Promptfoo, Humanloop, or equivalent evaluation platforms.
• Technical background sufficient to discuss enterprise architecture, integrations, APIs, security, data flows, and senior-level solution design.
• Strong understanding of where AI creates value, where it fails, and how to balance business ambition with implementation reality.
• Native-level Dutch and fluent English.
