Senior Teradata Data Engineer (Banking)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid work with on-site presence at least 2.5 days per week. Candidates must have an existing legal right to work in Europe.

Salary: €4,410–€5,250 for B2B or €2,300–€2,650 net for a permanent contract.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and operate Teradata-based data pipelines and jobs for the banking Data Factory.
• Schedule and monitor jobs using Control-M.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot Teradata SQL queries.
• Perform ETL processing with Ab Initio.
• Collaborate with technical teams using Git, Jira, Confluence, MEGA, and Zeenea.
• Produce technical documentation, activity reports, and test results while analyzing data processes and resolving operational issues independently.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Teradata and SQL.
• Practical knowledge of Unix, Ab Initio, and Control-M.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• A strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, autonomy, and curiosity.
• Experience working in a structured, business-critical data environment.
• Existing legal right to work in Europe.
• Fluent English is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience in the banking sector.
• Knowledge of MEGA and Zeenea.
• French language skills.
