Senior SQL Server DBA & Architect (Azure/AWS/GCP)

Location: Lisbon, hybrid, with up to 2 remote days per week. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Europe.

Salary: €5,250–€6,090 gross under a B2B contract, or €2,600–€3,000 net under a permanent contract.

What you will do

• Administer and maintain SQL Server platforms, including versions beyond 2014 and the latest 2022–2025 capabilities.
• Manage platform refreshes, infrastructure and version upgrades, migrations, and cloud database initiatives across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Develop and maintain T-SQL and PowerShell scripts for automation, administration, and operational utilities.
• Analyse database performance, tune systems, and support development teams with query and stored procedure optimisation.
• Implement and manage high-availability solutions, including Always On and transactional replication.
• Monitor production databases, resolve incidents, manage changes, participate in crisis management and on-call operations, administer Microsoft BI tools, apply security policies, and maintain operational documentation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of database administration experience with a senior or expert-level background.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server administration and multi-database environments.
• Experience with Sybase ASE, PolyBase, and Hadoop integration.
• Hands-on knowledge of Always On, transactional replication, T-SQL, and PowerShell.
• Experience with performance tuning, production operations, incident resolution, and change management.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Knowledge of SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI Server.
• Availability for on-call duties and staggered working hours.
• Fluent English and mandatory French.
• Existing legal right to work in Europe.

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET development, including C#, Angular, or Rust.
• Experience building internal tools and web platforms.
