Cloud 2nd Line Operations Engineer (Azure): Ensuring the smooth operation of Azure infrastructure, guiding first-line support, routing incidents and requests, and maintaining operational documentation with an accent on Terraform pipelines, Azure DevOps, cloud resources, storage, access control, and networking. Focus on troubleshooting complex incidents, designing reliable operational procedures, and providing 24/7 standby support on a rotation basis.
Location: Remote from Portugal
Salary: €3,600–€3,800 gross per month, including fixed and variable compensation, meal allowance, remote work allowance, and benefits.

What you will do
- Operate and maintain the IT landscape, ensuring stable and efficient day-to-day operations.
- Guide first-line support and determine the appropriate routing for incidents and service requests.
- Troubleshoot complex Azure infrastructure and operational issues across cloud resources, storage, networking, and access controls.
- Deploy infrastructure as code using Terraform through Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Create and maintain runbooks, FAQs, troubleshooting procedures, and operational best practices.
- Provide 24/7 standby support on a rotating basis and communicate solutions to teams, customers, and vendors.
Requirements
- Intermediate-level experience in cloud or second-line operations engineering.
- Strong experience with Azure cloud services and Azure resources including Data Factory, Azure Machine Learning, Key Vault, OpenAI, Cognitive Services, Kubernetes, Event Hubs, and Function Apps.
- Proven experience deploying Terraform through pipelines and familiarity with Azure DevOps service connections, variable groups, repositories, permissions, and security.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, and ADLS, with the ability to select suitable storage solutions for specific use cases.
- Experience with Azure RBAC, including custom and predefined roles, and Azure networking concepts such as virtual networks, subnets, private endpoints, and network security groups.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, collaboration, adaptability, and customer-focused skills.
