Senior Risk Manager (Life & Health Reinsurance)

Location: Singapore, SG. Occasional travel and attendance at global meetings spanning multiple time zones are required.

What you will do

• Provide risk advice on high-impact transactions and projects across diverse markets within the defined risk appetite.
• Collaborate with business partners and senior leadership on portfolio steering, business planning, and risk management decisions.
• Lead and conduct risk reviews and deep dives covering insurance and operational risks.
• Review and monitor risk limits, exposures, and risk aggregation to ensure they remain within tolerance.
• Identify risks in new business models, technologies, and emerging risk areas to support forward-looking strategies and mitigation.
• Promote strong risk culture and improve risk awareness across the business.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Life & Health reinsurance.
• At least 10 years of relevant life (re)insurance industry experience.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, influencing, and leadership skills, including the ability to speak up and constructively challenge ideas under pressure.
• Good analytical and modelling capabilities, with sound risk management and actuarial techniques.
• Knowledge and understanding of risks and controls within a reinsurance environment.
• Agile learning mindset, openness to new ideas, and commitment to continuous learning.
• Willingness to share knowledge and experience across risk management teams and functions.
• Qualified actuary status is ideal; other quantitative backgrounds with suitable business experience will also be considered.

• Experience working across multiple business functions.
• Exposure to large and structured transactions.
• Knowledge or experience in risk modelling, capital management, and financial market risk.
• Knowledge of stochastic modelling.
