Professional Services Engineer (AI)

Location: Sydney, Australia; onsite customer activities required, with 75% travel and proximity to a major international airport.

What you will do

• Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot hirify.global solutions in customer environments.
• Perform onsite hardware rack, stack, cabling, labeling, software installation, cluster relocation, and expansion activities.
• Handle occasional break-fix requests and resolve unexpected technical issues under pressure.
• Collaborate with internal teams on product development and process improvement.
• Contribute technical expertise to training materials and runbooks for VAST partners and Customer Support.
• Maintain current knowledge of AI, storage, industry trends, emerging technologies, best practices, and VAST software releases.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a similar technical role, including expertise in data storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, DAS, and cloud storage.
• At least 2 years of Linux CLI experience.
• Experience designing and implementing data storage solutions in complex environments.
• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies, including VMware and Docker.
• Familiarity with networking, switch configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to collaborate with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to safely lift 65–90 lbs; willingness to travel 75% and remain near a major international airport.
