Sr. Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, San Jose, United States; US citizenship required.

Annual base pay: $195,800–$293,800.

What you will do

• Build, integrate, operate, and maintain security monitoring and auditing systems across the hirify.global Distributed Cloud platform.
• Collaborate with software architects, security defenders, Operations, SRE, compliance experts, and business leaders to define monitoring events, audits, alerts, and system integrations.
• Expand monitoring metrics and operational visibility to improve incident response, platform availability, and forensic capabilities.
• Develop vulnerability management and DevSecOps strategies.
• Execute the platform Incident Response Plan and provide information required for response and forensic investigations.

Requirements

• US citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 8+ years of security operations and monitoring experience.
• Experience with DevSecOps, vulnerability assessment, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with logging, monitoring, SIEM, and dashboarding tools such as AWS GuardDuty, Sumo Logic, Grafana, CrowdStrike, Datadog, Splunk, and Thycotic.
• Working knowledge of at least one cloud computing platform, such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Compute.
• Good understanding of Kubernetes, containers, and deploying applications in containers.
• Hands-on experience with programming and/or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or Shell.
• Good understanding of the complexities and security challenges of large-scale distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of cloud orchestration systems such as Kubernetes or OpenStack.
• Self-motivated approach and willingness to learn new areas and take on new challenges enthusiastically.
