Sr. Platform Security Engineer II (6836) (25k Sign-on)

Salary: $190,000–$280,000 per year, with possible performance-based bonuses and other additional compensation.

What you will do

• Serve as a security engineering subject matter expert for containerized environments, service mesh technologies, and microservices.
• Design, implement, and manage security controls for containerized workloads, including image scanning, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, endpoint protection, encryption, runtime protection, RBAC, and network segmentation.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows while supporting RMF, NIST SP 800-53, ICD 503, and FedRAMP compliance.
• Configure and optimize security monitoring and logging solutions, including Prisma Cloud or similar tools, and analyze Splunk logs for security-relevant anomalies.
• Monitor threats, alerts, network traffic, and system logs; investigate incidents and breaches; perform threat and risk analysis; and develop incident response plans.
• Assess container orchestration platforms, microservices, and APIs; collaborate with platform engineers, ISSOs, developers, IT, software development, and compliance teams; and document architectures, controls, findings, and monitoring strategies.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 7+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience designing and implementing security controls and continuous monitoring and auditing solutions for compliance.
• Strong experience with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
• Hands-on experience implementing and validating security controls in containerized, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps IL5/IL6+ environments.
• Strong skills in specifying and implementing log collection with Splunk and querying and analyzing aggregated logs.
• Experience with Fortify, Acunetix, and Prisma Cloud.
• Proficiency in incident response, security incident handling, forensic analysis, periodic security checks, and continuous monitoring aligned with the NIST Risk Management Framework.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and infrastructure components.
