Network Engineer (SIP VoIP)

What you will do

• Plan, support, troubleshoot, implement, and administer network infrastructure and customer enterprise network solutions.
• Establish and maintain network performance, configurations, connections, routing, switching, and IP address auditing.
• Design system configurations, direct installations, document and enforce network standards, and schedule upgrades.
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, data servers, and network equipment while monitoring access and enforcing security policies.
• Collaborate with network architects on optimization and provide Level III network support.
• Mentor team members, serve as an escalation point, and support documentation, reporting, and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on Network Engineering experience and/or a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
• Proven experience designing, troubleshooting, operating, and improving complex national enterprise networks; carrier-grade SIP VoIP networks; or Internet backbone and IP service provider access networks.
• Thorough hands-on knowledge of IP routing and switching, including VRF, OSPF, BGP, route redistribution, Spanning Tree, DSCP, MP-BGP, and MPLS VPN, including VPLS Layer 2, VPRN Layer 3 Options A and B, and point-to-point pseudowire.
• Thorough hands-on knowledge of carrier-grade VoIP infrastructure, including hosted PBX platforms such as Metaswitch or Broadsoft, high-CPS SBC clusters such as Sansay, Acme, or Sonus, and endpoint devices such as Polycom VVX, Cisco SPA and ATA, and Grandstream.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Juniper, Cisco, and Adtran routers and switches.
• Ability to analyze Wireshark results to solve complex SIP VoIP and IP internetworking challenges.
• Ability to create and modify security policies on routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Ability to work off hours, nights, and weekends when required.
• Cisco CCNP or equivalent knowledge; collaborative work style; strong written and oral communication; and excellent research, organizational, and analytical skills.
