2027 Summer Intern - Private Equity Chicago

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; full-time, onsite in the Chicago office, 40 hours per week. Applicants must be authorized and legally eligible to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Expected hourly rate: $25.00–$27.00 per hour for the State of Illinois market, based on experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Conduct fundamental research on publicly traded companies using SEC filings, earnings materials, company presentations, sell-side research, industry publications, and other sources.
• Build and maintain financial models covering company performance, earnings, valuation, and key investment drivers.
• Develop an investment thesis on one or more public companies and present research conclusions to the investment team.
• Analyze industries, companies, competitors, industry dynamics, earnings calls, investor presentations, and other corporate events.
• Use FactSet and other research resources to support investment analysis.
• Participate in learning sessions and, when available, meetings with public-company executives, investor relations teams, sell-side research analysts, and other investment professionals.

Requirements

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
• Demonstrated interest in equity research, investing, or financial markets through investment clubs, coursework, internships, personal investing, stock pitches, or independent learning.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, business, or another relevant field, with expected graduation in December 2027 or June 2028.
• Foundational understanding of financial statements, accounting, corporate finance, and/or valuation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Intellectual curiosity, analytical and critical-thinking skills, attention to detail, ownership, dependability, and willingness to ask questions.
• Ability to communicate research and investment conclusions clearly and concisely, collaborate, seek feedback, and contribute to constructive debate.
• Alignment with values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
• Authorization and legal eligibility to work in the U.S., including a valid work or study permit where applicable.
