Senior DevOps Engineer (AI)

Location: Czechia; work from home or from Central Europe offices in Bratislava, Brno, or Prague.

Base salary: €1,300,000–€1,630,000.

What you will do

• Design and maintain sustainable infrastructure, microservice solutions, and robust production environments on Google Cloud.
• Manage Kubernetes, databases, cloud components, and other core infrastructure with a focus on security, high availability, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Automate tools and infrastructure to reduce manual work and independently deliver maintenance and project tasks from specification through production.
• Monitor applications, configure alerting, and participate in the on-call rotation as required.
• Support engineering teams, review design proposals, and validate application performance and availability.
• Develop core platform components such as logging or authorization when needed.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of production experience with Kubernetes, public cloud, and Python or Go.
• Ability to operate Kubernetes in 24x7 production, understand cluster internals, configure security contexts, network policies, roles and role bindings, pod affinity, disruption budgets, priority classes, taints, and related features.
• Experience analyzing cluster resource usage and working with resource requests and limits, HPAs, or VPAs.
• Experience managing and upgrading Kubernetes clusters without interrupting live applications, including understanding node pools, cluster features, versions, and autoscaling.
• Experience with GCP preferred, or AWS/Azure, including infrastructure-as-code principles and choosing between managed cloud services and self-hosted alternatives.
• Ability to read and understand code, review AI-generated Python for correctness, security, and suitability, and develop custom tooling when needed.
• Experience writing Terraform modules with multiple interconnected resources.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting; on-duty experience is preferred, along with Grafana and Prometheus.
• Experience with DevOps, orchestration or configuration management, and continuous integration technologies including Terraform, GitLab, Ansible, and Docker.
• Ability to independently deliver specified maintenance or project tasks and remain accountable for changes produced with AI assistance.
• Active interest in Kubernetes and related technologies, including continuous learning and keeping up to date.
• Participation in DevOps-related conferences.
• Experience onboarding and training new team members.
