Platform & DevOps Lead (Azure/Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid, Bratislava, Slovakia

Base salary: €3,800–€6,300 per month for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the Platform team supporting SPIRE, a business-critical product used by Non-Life reserving actuaries.
• Manage four team members while remaining actively involved in hands-on engineering.
• Build, maintain, and improve reliable infrastructure supporting seven software development teams.
• Improve the release process, migrate to a new observability platform, and migrate to a new CI/CD pipeline library.
• Move team-managed infrastructure and services to centrally provisioned solutions across Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Azure SQL, and Redis.
• Turn platform priorities into practical plans, drive implementation, and ensure compliance with hirify.global’s centrally defined rules and guidelines.

Requirements

• Strong software development background combined with experience leading a team and staying actively involved in engineering.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, release processes, trunk-based development, and related tooling.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery, observability, the software development lifecycle, and agile ways of working.
• Familiarity with messaging middleware such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
• Ability to quickly understand an existing technical environment and how the organisation works.
• Ability to remain calm during system failures, identify priorities, recognise patterns, and stay focused in a noisy environment.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to establish effective communication channels across teams.
• Ownership of assigned topics and the ability to take action and move work forward independently.

Nice to have

• Experience with every tool in the stated technology stack is not required; willingness to learn new technologies is valued.
