Senior Database Administrator (MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle)

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid work with expected office attendance 3 days per week. Working hours are 9 am–5 pm, with occasional flexibility based on business needs.

Salary: €3,800–€5,700 gross per month. The posting also lists an annual range of €39,400–€59,200.

What you will do

• Architect and implement high-availability, fault-tolerant, and performance-focused solutions across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle environments.
• Lead major database incident response, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution to minimize business impact.
• Analyze metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize data access and query performance.
• Design and evolve database schemas, storage strategies, deployment models, and enterprise database lifecycles.
• Enforce security controls, manage access, and support compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Promote operational best practices, mentor junior team members, collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams, and maintain documentation, runbooks, and post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and administering databases across multiple platforms.
• Deep expertise in MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
• Industry-recognized certification in one or more database technologies.
• Strong command of performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and database security best practices.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing the full lifecycle of enterprise database systems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and focus on system reliability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Ability to lead complex database projects from concept to execution, mentor junior team members, and influence technical decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
