Staff DevOps Engineer (Infrastructure): Building and operating sustainable cloud infrastructure, microservice solutions, and robust production environments on Google Cloud with an accent on Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and high availability. Focus on designing cross-team infrastructure initiatives, upgrading and optimizing clusters, reviewing managed versus self-hosted solutions, and maintaining reliable 24x7 operations.

Base salary: €48,800–€61,000 per year.
Company

What you will do
Design sustainable infrastructure, microservice solutions, and robust production environments with engineering teams.
Own infrastructure initiative designs and specifications, break them into executable tasks, and lead projects spanning multiple engineering teams.
Automate tools and infrastructure to reduce manual work.
Operate and improve Kubernetes, databases, and Google Cloud infrastructure with attention to security, high availability, cost, and scalability.
Monitor applications, configure alerting, validate application performance and availability, and participate in an on-call rotation.
Support developers, review design proposals, and develop core infrastructure components such as logging or authorization when needed.
Requirements
At least 5 years of production experience with Kubernetes, including understanding cluster internals and operating 24x7 production environments.
Experience with public cloud, preferably GCP, or AWS/Azure; understanding of cloud risks and benefits, infrastructure as code, and the trade-offs between managed and self-hosted solutions.
Ability to read and understand Python or Go code, review AI-generated Python code for correctness, security, and suitability, and develop custom tooling when needed.
Ability to turn loosely defined problems into designs and specifications, write design proposals, assess trade-offs, and review others' designs.
Experience leading projects across multiple teams from scoping and planning through delivery without direct reporting authority.
Ability to independently deliver maintenance and project work while understanding, verifying, and explaining every shipped change.
Active interest in Kubernetes and related technologies, including ongoing learning and participation in DevOps-related conferences.
Hands-on experience configuring Kubernetes security contexts, network policies, roles and role bindings, pod affinity, host paths, pod disruption budgets, priority classes, and node taints; optimizing resource requests and limits, HPAs, or VPAs; and upgrading clusters without interrupting live applications.
Experience writing Terraform modules with multiple interconnected resources; setting up monitoring and alerting; and working with Grafana, Prometheus, Terraform, GitLab, Ansible, and Docker.
Experience onboarding and training new team members.
