AI Engineer, Commercial Aircraft Group

Location: Remote or onsite in Buffalo, NY; Commercial Aircraft Group based in East Aurora, NY, United States. The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually in Buffalo, NY.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, copilots, analytics solutions, and automation capabilities.
• Translate business challenges across engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, and supply chain into scalable technical solutions.
• Build integrations, APIs, services, connectors, workflows, and enterprise data connections for AI-enabled business processes.
• Develop Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, generative AI, retrieval, orchestration, search, and recommendation capabilities.
• Evaluate and optimize AI model performance, accuracy, usability, reliability, and business value across proof-of-concept, pilot, and production implementations.
• Implement cybersecurity, data governance, privacy, Responsible AI, documentation, training, testing, deployment, and production-readiness practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Typically 3–7 years of combined experience in software development, solution engineering, automation development, data engineering, analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise applications and business solutions.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, intelligent automation, Generative AI, and Large Language Models.
• Proficiency in one or more of Python, C#, JavaScript, SQL, or similar development languages.
• Experience integrating applications with enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and cloud-based platforms; understanding of data architecture, data modeling, data quality, and analytics principles.
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, including DevOps, messaging systems, and Infrastructure as Code; practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and/or Azure Container Apps.
• Familiarity with modern web technologies and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js; experience with REST APIs, API testing tools, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Understanding of distributed system architectures and design patterns, cybersecurity, data governance, privacy, and Responsible AI concepts, with strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Power Automate, and related technologies.
• Experience with Blazor; LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or Semantic Memory.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, aerospace, engineering, supply chain, quality, or operations environments; familiarity with ERP, MES, PLM, quality management, and manufacturing systems.
• Experience building AI-powered copilots, intelligent agents, conversational applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions, knowledge retrieval systems, or semantic search capabilities.
• Knowledge of MLOps, prompt engineering, AI evaluation frameworks, model governance, Agile development, and product-based delivery models.
• Microsoft, Azure, AI, Power Platform, or software development certifications.
