Senior Full Stack Developer (IoT)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Base salary: $108,750.00–$152,250.00 per year

Develop an IoT platform for real-time tracking and analytics of trailers, containers, and other high-value assets across North America.

What you will do

• Build and optimize backend microservices with Node.js, Express, NATS, Redis, MySQL, and Elasticsearch on AWS.
• Develop real-time, data-intensive systems for high-volume telemetry ingestion and big data processing.
• Contribute to frontend development with React.
• Influence platform architecture and technical direction, including cloud re-architecture for scalability and resilience.
• Ensure reliability through automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
• Expand reporting, analytics, APIs, and customer experiences in a microservices environment.

Requirements

• Strong backend development experience.
• SQL and NoSQL experience, including MySQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
• Experience building microservices and event-driven systems.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern cloud tooling.
• Ability to design and reason about complex system architectures.
• Curiosity, ownership, and willingness to investigate unfamiliar problems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in JavaScript.
• Advanced React experience.
• Experience in IoT, telematics, or large-scale distributed systems.
