Senior Python Developer (Python)

Location: United Kingdom; candidates must live within reasonable travelling distance of a hirify.global office and be open to working on-site at a hirify.global office or client location at least 2 days per week. Relocation support of up to £8,000 is available.

What you will do

• Lead the production of user-centred software based on business requirements and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues and stakeholders to explore, design and deliver solutions to complex client problems.
• Manage software development and deployment pipelines, resolving issues and potential bottlenecks.
• Communicate and present prototypes, solutions and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build effective relationships, identify challenges and ensure they are resolved.
• Mentor engineers and support consultants in their professional development.

Requirements

• Excellent experience in Python.
• Proven experience delivering high-quality, robust solutions within a delivery team.
• Experience coaching and guiding others toward optimal solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and non-technical topics.
• Extensive experience across the full development lifecycle delivering user-centred digital solutions.
• Advanced full-stack development skills using Python, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, including experience with JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as Node, React or Angular.
• Strong experience with containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes, and with microservices architecture.
• Expertise in RESTful API services and agile methods including Scrum, Kanban and TDD.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation, public cloud environments such as AWS or Azure, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working on GOV or NHS projects.
• Knowledge of Kafka or other asynchronous messaging systems.
