Backend Engineer (Python)

Location: Hybrid in London, UK; remote candidates may be considered, but the ability to work in the UK is required.

What you will do

• Build and develop the shared backend retail codebase used by hirify.global engineering teams worldwide.
• Contribute to products that lower energy bills, enable greener living, and improve customer experiences.
• Work with teams across marketing, operations, data, and engineering.
• Design and implement reliable backend services and asynchronous processing systems.
• Take ownership of backend work in an open, agile environment.

Requirements

• General interest in technology and problem-solving, with a diligent and thoughtful approach.
• Experience or expertise with Python.
• Experience with Django or an equivalent web framework.
• Experience with domain modelling and GraphQL.
• Ability to write robust and fault-tolerant software.
• Experience with Celery and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Ability to work in the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
