Payroll/Benefits Managed Service Specialist (US Payroll)

Location: Remote within authorized US states; candidates must reside in CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MN, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, or WA. Candidates must be able to work EST. Temporary work from anywhere is available for up to 2 months per year after 6 months.

Base salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary contact for payroll processing and issue resolution within the Managed Services Bureau.
• Review payrolls for accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Process high-volume payrolls efficiently and accurately under tight deadlines.
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll service delivery.
• Support new client onboarding, including accurate data preparation for retrospective and parallel runs.
• Train and mentor junior payroll team members and escalate complex issues while communicating clearly with clients.

Requirements

• Experience in a Managed Services or Bureau environment.
• Demonstrable US payroll experience in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
• Strong knowledge of US payroll legislation, tax regulations, and statutory payments.
• Experience handling high-volume payroll processing accurately and efficiently.
• Proven ability to optimize payroll processes and drive improvements.
• Strong analytical skills for identifying payroll discrepancies and anomalies.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex payroll matters clearly to clients and internal teams.
• Experience using payroll software; hirify.global Payroll, Sage, Xero, or other cloud-based solutions are relevant.

• Experience in SaaS technology alongside payroll.
• Experience working with global teams or enterprise customers.
• Experience onboarding customers into a new managed-service or outsourced function.
• Experience using Zendesk, Slack, and Asana.
• Experience working with APIs and integrations.
