What you will do

• Purchase raw materials, laboratory supplies, scientific equipment, services, and office or business supplies based on planned usage and inventory requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and manage suppliers; assess vendor reliability and develop new supply sources.
• Coordinate purchasing, expediting, delivery issue resolution, and defective or unacceptable goods disposition with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor raw-material inventory using minimum/maximum, reorder, forecast, finished-goods, and consumption-rate reports.
• Pursue cost-saving opportunities, report PPV to costing, and manage BPO processing.
• Work with planning and project managers to forecast demand and acquire materials for new customers.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of purchasing experience.
• Experience purchasing reagents, chemicals, laboratory products, direct-to-manufacturer, OEM, and custom products, including chemical and biological materials, boxes, labels, inserts, plastics, and glass.
• Experience in a medical, diagnostic, or biotechnology production setting is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge or experience with FDA Quality System Requirements, cGMP, and ISO Standards.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of units of measure, conversions, metric measurement, and strong mathematical ability.
• Effective negotiation, trend and statistical data analysis, decision-making, and recommendation skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, written and verbal communication, multitasking, teamwork, and stakeholder relationship-building skills.
• Ability to comply with policies, procedures, objectives, and safety standards; work independently with minimal supervision; and communicate with all organizational levels.
• Work authorization in the United States that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.
