Photographer and Editor - Temp (News)

Location: Dallas, TX; onsite work with possible travel for special assignments and coverage.

What you will do

• Shoot and edit assigned, breaking-news, and special-assignment stories for live and recorded TV productions using ENG cameras and non-linear editing equipment.
• Edit material to script from the facility or remote field locations using ENG equipment.
• Provide pictures and short videos from the field for social media platforms.
• Operate and safely maintain news vehicles and broadcast equipment, including routine maintenance and light troubleshooting.
• Monitor scanners in news vehicles and coordinate continuously with reporters, photographers, producers, assignment desk editors, video editors, chief photographers, engineering, and production departments.
• Interact daily with the public and local, state, and federal officials.

Requirements

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a news photographer in a TV news or similar environment.
• Strong storytelling and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meet strict deadlines, multitask, and communicate effectively.
• Availability for flexible hours, including holidays, weekends, evenings, and work during inclement weather such as hurricanes.
• Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds of broadcast video equipment.
• Vision and hearing acuity, with clear and audible speech.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Self-motivation, organization, and excellent personal interaction skills.
