Planner/Buyer (Nuclear)

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 per year

What you will do

• Evaluate bids and select or recommend suppliers.
• Follow up on supplier awards through order completion.
• Negotiate and resolve supplier issues involving damage claims, rejections, losses, returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
• Conduct supplier site visits and assess production capability, performance, and delivery.
• Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor final product approval through the complete production cycle.
• Establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements from engineering plans and production specifications, and coordinate material availability.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of applicable experience in purchasing, planning, or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of supply chain management concepts covering planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, and logistics.
• Knowledge and experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and develop effective working relationships.
