Data Product Analyst (AI)

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States; hybrid, with attendance at the South End office three days per week. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: Base pay of $90,000–$95,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand goals, reporting needs, workflows, and data challenges, then translate findings into user stories, development tickets, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with Data Product leads, reporting teams, data engineers, and Data Governance to define data needs, business rules, definitions, dependencies, ownership, refresh requirements, and quality expectations.
• Create and maintain product requirements documents, data contracts, business definitions, data structure documentation, and usage guidance.
• Explore and validate data using SQL and reporting tools; investigate discrepancies, prepare and execute user acceptance testing, coordinate business participation, document defects, and confirm fixes.
• Communicate requirements, designs, testing results, product demonstrations, open questions, issues, and progress to technical and business audiences.
• Monitor product usage, performance, and user feedback to identify improvements that make data products more accurate, accessible, and useful.

Requirements

• College degree.
• At least two years of experience working alongside data or analytics teams in a business, analytical, technical, or product support capacity.
• Basic SQL skills, including querying, filtering, joining, and summarizing data.
• Experience working with databases or reporting and business intelligence tools.
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into clear, organized documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining data concepts to business audiences and communicating business needs to technical teams.
• Collaborative approach to working with stakeholders, analysts, and data engineers.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, organization, and follow-through on open items.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering.
• Experience writing user stories, development tickets, acceptance criteria, or product requirements documents.
• Experience supporting user acceptance testing or validating reports, datasets, or data pipelines.
• Familiarity with data governance concepts, including data quality, business definitions, ownership, lineage, and data contracts.
• Experience using project tracking, documentation, or data cataloging tools.
• Curiosity about how data products are designed, developed, governed, and used to solve business problems.
• Comfort using AI tools for discovery, requirements gathering, data product design, prototyping, and documentation while validating outputs and ensuring responsible data use.
• Experience designing or building AI agent workflows and automations to streamline tasks, connect tools or data sources, and support business processes.
• Proactive mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and ability to navigate open questions and evolving requirements.
