Senior Product Data Analyst - Payments & Financial Services (Fintech)

Location: United States; remote-first, with office spaces in San Jose, California and Draper, Utah. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Estimated annual salary: $107,800–$151,800 USD depending on geographic zone, experience, expertise, and location.

What you will do

• Set the analytics agenda for payments, identify product opportunities, data gaps, and automation candidates, and provide recommendations that shape the roadmap.
• Own the Payments analytics relationship by defining metrics and OKRs, running review cadences, and leading deep-dive analysis.
• Run experiments and apply causal inference to determine what drives metric changes.
• Build and maintain production-grade dbt data models with tests, documentation, and version-controlled workflows.
• Use AI-assisted workflows and automate recurring reporting; drive executive reporting adoption across leadership and Product.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Product Marketing, Finance, data engineering, and GTM leadership to validate data quality, reconcile payment data, and resolve documentation-to-logic drift.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, or a related quantitative field, owning a domain end to end.
• Track record of self-directed work, including finding high-impact problems and shipping fixes.
• Advanced SQL and strong Python skills.
• Production experience with dbt or a similar tool, including models, tests, documentation, and version-controlled review.
• Fluency in experimentation and causal inference, with judgment about when experimentation is appropriate.
• Genuine AI-native fluency, including experience building with agentic coding tools and assessing when their output can be trusted.
• Ability to turn ambiguous questions into metrics frameworks and defend the resulting definitions.
• Data storytelling skills that turn complex findings into decisions acted on by product teams.
• US work authorization without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with payments, fintech, or marketplace data, including payment rails, settlement and reconciliation, fraud and risk signals, pricing, or monetization.
