Senior Specialist in Product Management - Color, Material & Finish (CMF)

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; based at the hirify.global location with 4 days per week in the office, regular in-person meetings and events, and approximately 10% domestic and international travel. The role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.

Base salary: $120,000–$145,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Own product-side coordination and integration of CMF activities across Scout vehicle programs, including the CMF roadmap, milestone plan, decision calendar, content, quality, timing, profitability, and complexity targets.
• Integrate Design, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Sustainability, and Finance on materials, colors, finishes, and decorative content.
• Lead cross-functional reviews, identify risks and trade-offs, coordinate issue resolution, and escalate topics affecting vehicle readiness.
• Manage weekly CMF committees, governance routines, workshops, decision tracking, and transparency on maturity, risks, actions, and timing.
• Prepare decision proposals, executive summaries, recommendation packages, dashboards, and reports for Product Steering Committee, Main System Teams, and other leadership forums.
• Evaluate cost, investment, timing, quality, sustainability, customer value, sourcing, supplier readiness, and risk mitigation for CMF changes while improving governance processes and decision criteria.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Management, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in automotive product management, vehicle development, CMF, design integration, or program management.
• Experience working in cross-functional vehicle development organizations.
• Strong understanding of automotive development milestones, governance processes, and program execution.
• Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority and manage complex topics with multiple owners, dependencies, risks, and deadlines.
• Excellent communication, presentation, executive-preparation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, follow-through, and escalation management.
• Ability to create decision papers, dashboards, agendas, leadership-ready presentations, and executive decisions for product governance committees.
• Understanding of automotive materials, decorative components, sustainability, and manufacturing processes; a valid driver’s license is required.
